Glow Plug Timer Testing Jig
A Glow Plug's functioning needs to be controlled for it to work optimally. A Timer or a Glow Plug Controller regulates current to the Glow Plug thereby controlling its heating times and provides indication to the driver to crank the engine when it is sufficiently warm. The Electronic Controller drastically reduces the Glow Plug failures that arise due to sticking relay or overheating of the glow plug.
We at Axis Technologies have developed the Testing Jig for these glow plug timers to avoid manufacturing of Faulty timers and to zero the rejection count.
The Timer testing jig can perform various tests of glow plug timer such as under voltage, over voltage, battery reverse, Short Circuit etc.
Timer is a unit which is used in Diesel cars for Ignition Control. The requirement of client was to test these timers after its final production process, to minimize the rejection from its end user.
The tests were needed to carry out for various conditions and criteria’s.
We have developed the testing jig for controlling the various tests for these timers. This is Intelligent Micro Processor based system, uses advanced Processor for Computing. The system is equipped with Alphanumeric Display and Keypad for Human Machine Interaction and Menu setting. Also it is equipped with indicator lamps for processes start and completion. Easy Access Push Buttons are provided on Control panel for easy operation.
The jig performs following various tests to check the performance of Timer Unit
The System has Memory storage facility for saving records of one month. The system also comes up with PC software. The data in the system can be uploaded to Computer and different reports can be generated and database can be maintained for future use.
